I'm not sure if it's just how it is from the factory or there's a resistor that eventually breaks down, but my heated seats on the lowest setting are intolerable after about 5 minutes. I know for a fact that at least newer models don't nuke your back but I'm curious if there's anyway you can fix this to make the lowest setting a mild heat. Vote. Join Date: Jan 2010. You can't replace one or the other. Also, disassembling and re-assembling the seats is a big job and even worse if you have sport seats.
